Scrumptious British Food Festivals You Need To Visit This Summer

Up and down the country more and more food festivals are popping up, giving us the perfect opportunity to get out and enjoy ourselves, tasting some of our favourite dishes and trying some new ones along the way. And with so many to choose from, festivals can range from specialist events focussing on one type of ingredient or dish, all the way through to huge events that cater for eaters with the broadest of tastes – we really are spoilt for choice.

With summer on its way, we’ve tried to get ahead of the hype and put together a list of some of the most exciting food events in the coming months. Find one near you then get out and give your taste buds a day to remember!

Touring Food Festivals

Proper Food & Drink Festivals – Proper Food & Drink Festivals host a number of events throughout the North East with the slogan ‘Proper Food for Proper People’. Each event is made up of travelling and local stalls, including locally-made cheeses, coffee, wine, smoked meats and more.  Proper Food & Drink Festivals run throughout the North East from May 28th to August 21st. couple at festival holding plastic beer glasses, smiling

Foodies Festivals – The family-run Foodies Festivals have been hosting events all around the UK since their debut in Edinburgh in 2006 and give Michelin star and globally recognised chefs the chance to cook up their favourite dishes in front of sell out crowds. This year’s locations include Brighton, Bristol, Birmingham, London, Edinburgh and many more.

Great British Food Festivals – Celebrating the very best local, regional and British artisan producers, Great British Food Festivals host a handful of great events across the country in areas such as Derbyshire, Yorkshire, Warwickshire and Wiltshire. This year’s festivals will include BBQ demos, baking tents, camping cookery classes, dozens of stalls and even some Man v Food challenges for those who feel brave enough.

Cheese & Chilli Festivals – If you combine a cheese festival, a chilli festival, chilli pepper and chilli sauce eating competitions and a bar of artisan brews from a selection of microbreweries then it sounds like a recipe for success. Clearly, it is, as Cheese & Chilli Festivals are hosting four events around the UK this summer in Basingstoke, Christchurch, Guildford and Winchester.
