Legislation - Plastic Straws
As a result of heightened media exposure, there has been a huge public outcry surrounding the use of Plastic Straws in the hospitality sector in the UK.
This has led to many newspaper, TV & Social Media Campaigns calling for Government action to reduce the impact of straws on the environment.
As a consequence of the above, in August 2018, the UK Government launched a consultation proposing to ban the sale and distribution of Plastic Straws, Cotton Buds and Drink Stirrers.
Legislation - EU Directive On SUP
Although the UK has left the European Union, we face the same problems as our European partners when it comes to addressing the problems of single-use plastics and packaging.
There has been limited activity in the UK, English, Scottish, Welsh & Northern Ireland Parliaments; however, action is imminent and will result in significant changes in the supply of single-use plastics & packaging.
