MATERIAL DETAILS

SUGARCANE BAGASSE

Sugarcane bagasse is a renewable material and a by-product of sugarcane. All of our sugarcane bagasse is certified to EN13432 as a compostable product. The European standard EN13632 defines the minimum requirements packaging has to meet in order to be processed by industrial composting.

Sugarcane bagasse food packaging is a popular choice for food service businesses, including restaurants and food trucks, as it is lightweight, durable, and leak-proof. It can be used to package a wide range of foods, including hot and cold dishes, and is microwave and freezer safe.

Sugarcane Bagasse is not recyclable.

DISPOSAL

SUGARCANE BAGASSE

Sugarcane bagasse is commercially compostable. It will break down into non-toxic particles after 12 weeks given the right conditions. All of our sugarcane bagasse is certified to EU Regulation EN13432 standard.

It should be disposed of through your food waste collection scheme. If you do not send your waste food for composting and you do not have a closed-loop system for compostable packaging, you should consider whether compostable packaging is the correct option for your business.

When disposing of sugarcane bagasse it should be separated from general waste and sent to an industrial compost facility for processing. Our sugarcane bagasse packaging is not suitable for home composting.

Sugarcane Bagasse is not recyclable and should not be placed in the recycling bin as it is a contaminant.
