Napkins FAQs
We categorize our paper napkins by ply or thickness:
· 1-Ply Napkins
· 2-Ply Napkins
· 3-Ply Napkins
"Ply" refers to the number of layers or thickness of folded materials in a napkin. For instance, a 1-Ply Napkin consists of a single layer, a 2-Ply Napkin has two layers, and a 3-Ply Napkin has three layers.

The term "napkin" originated from the French word "nappe," which refers to a tablecloth. "Serviette" is derived from the old French word for "serve." Both napkins and serviettes can be made from either paper or cloth and serve the same functional purpose.
Tissues, however, are typically made softer to avoid irritation of the sensitive skin around the nose. Napkins and serviettes, on the other hand, are made from sturdier materials to prevent them from falling apart when used to wipe up spills and messes.
